This week, at Donegal Women’s Centre, we are proud to recognise and celebrate National Carers Week, honouring the incredible contribution of carers across Ireland.

We want to acknowledge the dedication, compassion, and quiet resilience of those who provide care every day—often behind the scenes—for loved ones, family members, friends, and neighbours. Carers are the backbone of our communities, offering support that is both deeply personal and, at times, physically and emotionally demanding.

Caring for others is an act of kindness and strength, but it can also come with challenges. It’s important that carers feel seen, valued, and supported—not just this week, but all year round.
