💜 Exciting Community Collaboration & Fundraiser Announcement 💜
We at Donegal Women’s Centre are delighted to be chosen as one of the recipients of an upcoming fundraiser hosted by Markievicz Camogie Club (Finn Valley) — and we are encouraging our community to get behind this fantastic initiative.
As Donegal’s only stand-alone camogie club, Markievicz Camogie Club will celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March 2026 by hosting a range of exciting camogie-based activities and community-focused events designed to bring people together in celebration of women, sport, and wellbeing.
🌸 Event Highlights
The planned programme includes:
🤍 Fun activities for children – including Póc Fáda and Daddy/Daughter drills, creating opportunities for families to enjoy sport together.
💗 A potential Play in Pink “Mamogie” match – bringing Minor, Senior, and past players together for a fun and inclusive game in support of the cause.
🎤 Inspirational guest speakers – talks focusing on female nutrition, wellbeing, and topics relevant to women across the wider community.
🎁 Local business involvement – sponsorship opportunities to support speaker costs, refreshments, and raffle prizes, helping to maximise the impact of the event.
🤝 Supporting Women in Our Community
While the event will help raise funds for underage development and grow the club’s presence within the community, it is also being driven by a strong spirit of women supporting women.
In a generous gesture of partnership and appreciation, 50% of the proceeds raised will be donated to Donegal Women’s Centre. This contribution recognises the vital support, services, and advocacy our team provides to women across the county every day.
💜 Get Involved
We warmly encourage local businesses and members of the wider community to support this initiative — whether by attending the event, donating raffle prizes, providing sponsorship, or simply participating on the day.
Together, we can make this a meaningful celebration of women in sport, wellbeing, and community connection — while making a real difference to services that support women throughout Donegal.
