💜 Her Health Through the Ages: Healthy Ageing, Vitality & Long-Term Wellbeing 🌸 Week 5: For Women in Their 50s & Beyond
💜 Her Health Through the Ages: Healthy Ageing, Vitality & Long-Term Wellbeing
Growing older brings change — but it also brings an opportunity to understand our health better, build healthy habits and take positive steps towards maintaining our strength, independence and wellbeing for the years ahead.
For the fifth and final week of Her Health Through the Ages, Donegal Women’s Centre invites women in their 50s and beyond to join us for an informative and encouraging evening dedicated to healthy ageing, vitality and long-term wellbeing.
Presented by Dr. Vanessa McBride, this session will look beyond hormones and menopause to explore some of the wider health considerations that become increasingly important as women age.
The focus is not simply on getting older — it is on understanding how we can support our bodies and minds to stay as healthy, active and resilient as possible.
🌸 Week 5: For Women in Their 50s & Beyond
Tuesday 15th November | 8pm–10pm
Healthy Ageing, Vitality & Long-Term Wellbeing
During the evening, Dr. Vanessa McBride will explore:
Heart health and cardiovascular wellbeing
Mental health and emotional resilience
Bone health and osteoporosis prevention
Brain health and cognitive wellbeing
Maintaining health and vitality as we age
🌷 Looking After Your Future Health
As we grow older, taking care of our health becomes increasingly important — and small, positive choices can contribute to our wellbeing over the long term.
Heart and cardiovascular health, strong bones, emotional resilience and brain health all play an important role in helping women remain active and independent.
Understanding potential health risks and knowing what conversations to have with healthcare professionals can help women take a more informed and proactive approach to their health.
💜 Strong Bones, Healthy Hearts & Active Minds
Women’s health after 50 is about much more than menopause.
Bone health can become increasingly important as we age, particularly when thinking about osteoporosis prevention. Looking after cardiovascular health is also an important part of supporting long-term wellbeing.
Our mental and cognitive wellbeing matter too.
Maintaining social connections, looking after our emotional health, staying mentally engaged and recognising changes that may need professional advice can all form part of a positive approach to healthy ageing.
This session is an opportunity to bring these different areas of women’s health together and look at the bigger picture: how can we support ourselves to live well as we age?

🌷 Ageing Well Starts with Understanding Your Health
Our health needs may change as we grow older, but there is no age at which learning more about our bodies stops being important.
Whether you want to learn more about protecting your heart and bones, supporting your mental and brain health, maintaining your vitality, or simply making informed choices for the years ahead, you are very welcome to attend.
Let’s talk about ageing not simply in terms of years, but in terms of health, strength, confidence, connection and quality of life.
