💜 Her Health Through the Ages: Menopause, Mental Health & Midlife Wellbeing 🌸 Week 4: For Women in Their 40s & 50s
💜 Her Health Through the Ages: Menopause, Mental Health & Midlife Wellbeing
The 40s and 50s can be a time of significant change in a woman’s life. As hormones begin to shift through perimenopause and menopause, women may experience changes that affect not only their physical health, but also their mood, sleep, energy levels and overall sense of wellbeing.
Knowing what is happening — and understanding the support and options available — can help women approach this stage of life feeling better informed and more confident.
For Week 4 of Her Health Through the Ages, Donegal Women’s Centre invites women in their 40s and 50s to join us for an informative and supportive evening focusing on menopause, mental health and midlife wellbeing.
Presented by Dr. Vanessa McBride, this session will explore the hormonal transition through perimenopause and menopause, common symptoms and practical ways women can support their health and wellbeing during midlife.
🌸 Week 4: For Women in Their 40s & 50s
Tuesday 8th November | 8pm–10pm
Menopause, Mental Health & Midlife Wellbeing
During the evening, Dr. Vanessa McBride will explore:
Perimenopause and menopause
Managing menopausal symptoms
Contraception in midlife
Mental health and emotional wellbeing
Supporting health through hormonal transition
🌷 Understanding the Menopause Transition
Every woman’s experience of perimenopause and menopause is different.
For some, symptoms may be relatively mild, while for others the changes can have a significant impact on everyday life. Changes in periods, hot flushes, sleep difficulties, mood, concentration and emotional wellbeing are among the many reasons women may begin to seek more information and support during this stage.
There can also be important questions around contraception and reproductive health during the years leading up to menopause.
Having clear and reliable information can help women understand the changes they are experiencing and have more informed conversations with healthcare professionals about their individual needs.
💜 Mental Wellbeing Matters Too
Menopause isn’t only about physical symptoms.
Hormonal changes can coincide with changes in mood and emotional wellbeing, while midlife itself can bring additional pressures and responsibilities.
Recognising the connection between physical health, hormonal health and mental wellbeing is an important part of supporting women through this stage of life.
This session offers an opportunity to learn, ask questions and better understand the options and support that may be available.

🌷 Be Informed. Be Supported. Prioritise Your Health.
Perimenopause and menopause are natural stages of life, but that doesn’t mean women should have to navigate the changes without information or support.
Whether you are already experiencing symptoms, wondering if changes you’ve noticed could be connected to perimenopause, thinking about contraception in midlife, or simply want to prepare yourself with better information for the years ahead, you are very welcome to attend.
