A Community United: Celebrating Generosity This International Women’s Day 💜
This International Women’s Day, we were reminded once again of the incredible strength, compassion, and solidarity that exists within our local community. At the heart of this celebration is a truly inspiring act of kindness led by Ciara McVeigh Lunn from Fitness LK.
Thanks to Ciara’s dedication and drive, an amazing €645 was raised in support of the Donegal Women’s Centre—a vital resource that continues to support and empower women across the region.
The Power of Community
Fundraisers are never just about the final number—they’re about people coming together with a shared purpose. Throughout the week, local women showed up, contributed, and stood in solidarity with one another. Whether through participation, donations, or simply spreading the word, every action played a part in making this initiative a success.
This is what community truly looks like: people lifting each other up, supporting those in need, and creating meaningful change together.
Supporting Vital Services
The funds raised will go directly toward supporting counselling services provided through the Donegal Community Counselling Service. These services offer a lifeline to women who may be navigating difficult times—providing a safe, supportive space where they can be heard, understood, and guided forward.
Access to such care can be transformative, and initiatives like this ensure those supports remain available to those who need them most.
A Heartfelt Thank You
To Ciara, and to every woman who contributed: thank you. Your generosity, kindness, and willingness to support others is making a real and lasting difference. It’s a powerful reminder that even small acts, when combined, can create something truly impactful.
As we reflect on this year’s International Women’s Day, let this be a celebration not only of progress, but of the everyday heroes in our community who continue to inspire change.
Together, we are stronger. 💜
