Always Watched? Understanding Technology-Facilitated Abuse
Do you feel like someone is always watching, checking, or monitoring you?
Technology is designed to help us connect, communicate, and make everyday life easier. However, when digital tools are used to monitor, intimidate, or control someone, they can become part of a pattern of abuse.
Technology-Facilitated Abuse is a form of coercive control where phones, apps, online accounts, and connected devices are used to create fear, pressure, and control.
It can include:
📍 Tracking your location without your knowledge or consent.
📱 Checking your phone, messages, or online activity.
🔑 Demanding passwords or access to your personal accounts.
💬 Sending constant messages that make you feel pressured to respond immediately.
👀 Monitoring your social media, contacts, or online interactions.
🏠 Using smart devices or shared accounts to control or monitor your daily life.
Feeling like you are always being watched, checked, or monitored is not normal — and it is not a sign of care.
Everyone deserves privacy, freedom, and safety, both online and offline.
