International Day for People of African Descent 🌍
Today, Donegal Women’s Centre joins communities around the world in recognising and celebrating the contributions, cultures, histories, and achievements of people of African descent.
International Day for People of African Descent is an opportunity to celebrate the richness and diversity of African heritage while acknowledging the experiences, challenges, and inequalities that many people of African descent continue to face. It reminds us of the importance of promoting equality, respect, inclusion, and human rights for everyone.
We recognise the valuable contributions that people of African descent have made and continue to make across communities, cultures, education, the arts, workplaces, and society as a whole. Their stories, identities, and experiences strengthen the diversity and richness of our shared world.
At Donegal Women’s Centre, we are committed to supporting inclusive communities where every person is valued, respected, and empowered. We stand together with communities in challenging discrimination, promoting equality, and creating spaces where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
Today, we celebrate identity, culture, resilience, and the many voices that contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate society.
✨ Celebrating diversity. Honouring heritage. Building belonging.
