International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances 🕯️
Today, Donegal Women’s Centre joins communities around the world in remembering and honouring all those who have been subjected to enforced disappearance, as well as the families and loved ones who continue to seek truth, justice, and answers.
Enforced disappearances represent a serious violation of human rights, leaving individuals, families, and communities facing uncertainty, loss, and lasting emotional pain. Behind every disappearance is a person whose life matters and a family whose search for information, justice, and recognition continues.
This day is an opportunity to stand in solidarity with victims and their loved ones, acknowledge the resilience of those affected, and reaffirm the importance of protecting human dignity, justice, and the rule of law.
At Donegal Women’s Centre, we believe in the importance of equality, respect, and human rights for all. We remain committed to supporting inclusive communities where every person’s voice is valued and where dignity and safety are upheld.
Today, we remember those who are missing, support those who continue to search for answers, and renew our commitment to a world where everyone’s rights and freedoms are respected.
🕊️ We remember. We stand together. We uphold human rights.
