Today, Donegal Women’s Centre joins communities around the world in recognising and celebrating the rich cultures, histories, traditions, knowledge, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples.
International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples is an opportunity to honour the resilience, strength, and diversity of Indigenous communities and to recognise the importance of protecting Indigenous rights, identities, and voices.
Indigenous Peoples have deep and longstanding connections to their lands, languages, cultures, and traditions. Their knowledge, experiences, and contributions continue to enrich societies around the world. This day provides an opportunity to reflect on the importance of respecting cultural heritage and supporting the preservation of unique identities and traditions.
