September Is World Suicide Prevention Month
She Said, “I’m Fine.”
Sometimes, those two words can hide so much—exhaustion, fear, loneliness, overwhelm, and hopelessness.
Women often put themselves last while caring for their families, supporting friends, managing responsibilities, and being there for everyone else.
But sometimes, “I’m fine” doesn’t mean everything is fine.
If someone you know doesn’t seem like themselves, don’t ignore it.
Take a moment to check in.
Listen without judgement.
Check in again.
Keep showing up.
You don’t need to have the perfect words or all the answers. Sometimes, your kindness, your time, and simply being there can make a real difference to someone who is struggling.
You don’t have to face life alone.
The Donegal Women’s Centre is here to support women in Donegal. We offer:
- Counselling
- Psychotherapy
- Domestic Abuse Support
- A listening ear
If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out. Help is here, and you don’t have to carry everything alone.

This September, let’s look beyond the words “I’m fine.”
Let’s ask again.
Let’s listen.
Let’s support one another.
Because sometimes, being there can make all the difference.
