September Is World Suicide Prevention Month
Silence Can Be Dangerous
Many women struggle in silence because they fear judgement, shame, rejection, or simply not being understood.
They may become quieter. They may hide how they are feeling. They may continue with everyday life while carrying pain that nobody else can see.
But no one should feel that they have to suffer alone.
This September, let’s create more spaces where women feel safe to speak openly about their mental health and what they are going through.
Let’s replace judgement with compassion.
Let’s replace silence with conversation.
Let’s replace isolation with connection.
Sometimes, you don’t need to have the right advice or the perfect words.
Just listen.
A safe, supportive conversation can be an important first step towards getting help.
If you’re worried about someone, check in. Ask how they really are. Listen without judgement and let them know that support is available.
Help starts with listening.
The Donegal Women’s Centre is here for you.
We offer:
- Counselling
- Psychotherapy
- Domestic Abuse Support
- A listening ear
If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out.
You don’t have to face life alone. Help is here.
