September Is World Suicide Prevention Month
Your Friend May Need You Today
Sometimes, a friend can be struggling deeply without knowing how to ask for help.
They may still smile, go to work, answer messages, or carry on with their everyday life—but inside, they may be feeling overwhelmed, lonely, or hopeless.
That’s why checking in matters.
Send the message.
Make the call.
Knock on the door.
You don’t need to have the perfect words. A simple “How are you really doing?” can open the door to an important conversation.
Listen without judgement.
Be patient.
Stay connected.
Let them know they matter.
Small acts of kindness and genuine connection can make a meaningful difference to someone who is struggling.
Don’t wait. Reach out. Check in. Let them know they are not alone.
The Donegal Women’s Centre is here for you.
We offer:
- Counselling
- Psychotherapy

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out.
