Your sexual health is an important part of your overall health and wellbeing, and sometimes having somewhere safe, confidential and welcoming to turn to can make all the difference.

At Ilash Clinic, we want young women across Donegal to know that support is available.

A free, confidential, drop-in sexual health clinic is available for women aged 17–25, providing an accessible opportunity to get sexual health information, advice and appropriate checks without the need to arrange an appointment in advance.

The clinic takes place every Monday from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at the Donegal Women’s Centre, Port Road, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, F92 X892, except on Bank Holidays.

There is no appointment needed — just drop in.

We understand that talking about sexual health can sometimes feel uncomfortable or embarrassing. You may be worried about something you have noticed, concerned about a possible sexually transmitted infection, have questions following unprotected sex, or simply want reassurance about your sexual health.

Whatever your reason for seeking support, you deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and without judgement.

Sexual health checks are a normal part of healthcare. Many sexually transmitted infections do not always cause noticeable symptoms, so getting checked can be an important way of looking after yourself and your sexual partners.

The clinic also provides an opportunity to ask questions and access information in a supportive environment. You don’t need to know exactly what you need before you arrive — if you have a concern or simply want to talk to someone about your sexual health, the service is there to help.

Most importantly, you are not alone. Taking the decision to seek advice or have a sexual health check is a positive step in looking after yourself.
