World Parkinson’s Day: Raising Awareness and Supporting Our Community
Today we recognise World Parkinson’s Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness and understanding of Parkinson’s disease. 💙
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that primarily affects movement but can also impact mood, sleep, memory, and daily activities. Symptoms vary from person to person, making understanding and awareness essential to supporting those living with the condition.
World Parkinson’s Day is an opportunity to stand with individuals, families, and carers affected by Parkinson’s, while highlighting the importance of research, early diagnosis, and access to appropriate support services. By increasing awareness and promoting understanding, we can ensure those living with Parkinson’s receive the compassion and care they deserve.
Through learning, conversation, and community support, we can create a more informed and compassionate environment for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. 💙
At Donegal Women’s Centre, we are committed to supporting women’s health and wellbeing by providing trusted information and creating a safe and confidential space where women and girls can access support.
