Summer is often portrayed as a season of sunshine, holidays, family gatherings, and carefree moments. For many people, it is a time to relax, reconnect, and make lasting memories. Yet behind the smiles and social media snapshots, summer can also be a difficult and challenging time for many women.

Feelings of loneliness, anxiety, relationship pressures, financial worries, family stress, and concerns about personal safety do not disappear when the sun comes out. In fact, for some women, these challenges can become even more overwhelming during the summer months when routines change, support networks may be less accessible, and expectations to be happy and carefree can feel difficult to meet.

At Donegal Women’s Centre, we understand that every woman’s journey is unique. We believe that every woman deserves to feel safe, valued, respected, and supported throughout the year, including during the summer season.
